The Chemical Industry Regulations (CIR) 2026 took place in Barcelona from October 5 to 7. We came back with a lot to build on. Maria, Anne-Sophie, and Alexander spoke with regulatory experts about one shared challenge: managing chemical registrations in a growing number of jurisdictions and how AI can help with day-to-day work.
At the pre-conference workshop, Maria presented “From Spreadsheets to Strategy: AI-Powered Registration Management, Live in Action.”
Maria shared her own path with chemicals: from the lab, to regulatory affairs, to software. She knows the daily pain of a regulatory team because she lived it: a hundred Excel files, fragmented data, and endless emails. That is why, together with her team, she built opesus Registration Management, a solution she really trusts.
The highlight of her presentation was the live demo of Registration Management. The idea is simple: your AI assistant connects opesus Registration Management, your single source of truth for registration data, with the tools you use every day.
The scenario: a Regulatory Affairs team preparing its monthly status meeting for REACH-like registrations. In a few minutes, the AI assistant:
When the meeting ended, Registration Management was already up to date. And that was only one scenario. The possibilities are endless.
The best part of CIR is always the people. We met regulatory teams, consultants, and industry associations, and had many 1:1 conversations at the after-work event and between sessions. Biocides, REACH, cost sharing, consortia: real cases, real pain, real ideas to build on.
On Monday evening, opesus hosted a casual get-together at The Hoxton, Poblenou. We settled into a lovely spot inside the restaurant, with good food, good drinks, great company, and plenty to talk about as we rounded off the day. We even made it to the photo booth (those pictures are staying with us). Thank you to everyone who came!
