Our deep understanding of the SAP Product Safety module helped us to identify and close functional gaps. For example, with CLP Art. 45, companies affected are required to submit poison center notifications (PCN) to the European Chemical Agency (ECHA). We created opesus EHS Product Notification (EPN) to cover this requirement.

Opesus EHS Product Notification runs within SAP Product Safety. Companies can seamlessly integrate the generation of UFIs and dossiers in the PCN format into their business processes running in SAP. Opesus EPN supports the following notifications:

  • EU Poison Center Notifications according to CLP Article 45, Annex VIII
  • EU C&L Inventory according to CLP Article 40
  • Swiss UFI requirements according to ChemO Articles 48 - 54
  • EU SCIP Database according to the Waste Framework Directive (WFD)

What is the difference between SAP Product Safety and SAP S/4HANA for product compliance?

SAP Product Safety runs on ECC 6.0 on-premise. SAP S/4HANA for product compliance runs on the latest SAP technologies and is available as cloud or on premise.

Functionalities of SAP Product Safety are available on SAP S/4HANA under the classic capabilities. However, the new SAP S/4HANA for product compliance has a new process model, new data model, and an integrated regulatory content.

What is SAP S/4HANA for product compliance "classic capabilities"?

The SAP S/4HANA for product compliance "classic" is available only on-premise. It includes all features of SAP Product Safety and SAP Product and REACH Compliance.

The "classic" also refers to the older technology - SAP GUI and WebDynpro transactions.

"Classic capabilities" refer to the following modules:

  • Product Compliance (EHS-MGM-PRC)
  • Product Safety (EHS-SAF)
  • Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD)
  • Global Label Management (EHS-SAF-GLM)
  • Dangerous Goods Management (EHS-DGP)

What is SAP S/4HANA for product compliance "new capabilities"?

The SAP S/4HANA for product compliance "new capabilities" is available on-premise and cloud. It is an overhaul of existing functions, meaning that there is a new process model, and runs with SAP Fiori user interface.

Not all of the new functionalities are available yet, but the full scope includes the following solution capabilities:
