30 Years of SAP EHS Expertise – Celebrating Markus Pogrzeba!

This year we are celebrating a very special milestone: our Markus Pogrzeba marks 30 years working on and with SAP Environment, Health & Safety (SAP EHS) and SAP Product Compliance - that’s about as long as the solutions exists 😉

From the Beginning to Today

In September 1995, Markus began his journey with SAP Product Safety as a dual student at TechniData – at a time when product and chemical compliance were still in their infancy. He started as developer, working on the SAP product itself. Later on, he switched to the occupational safety side of things for many years. And he explored the world, both geographically and in terms of different businesses, as a consultant. He has implemented and supported many customers in a variety of industries.

Markus’ expertise spans the full range of chemical compliance topics process industry customers are dealing with, including CLP, REACH and Poison Center notifications – all essential for regulatory compliance and ensuring safe, sustainable products.

Passion for Knowledge Sharing

Markus is not only a practitioner but also a bridge-builder. As deputy spokesperson of the German DSAG working group EHS and Product Compliance, he has been fostering exchange between users, SAP, and partners for many years. He regularly shares his knowledge at conferences, workshops, and industry events – whether at ChemAcademy, ChemCon, the VCI (German Association of Chemical Industry) or the BfR (German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment).

Markus & opesus

For more than a decade, Markus has been a cornerstone of opesus. As Product Manager for Process Industry, he actively drives the development of our solutions and ensures that our process industry customers can successfully tackle their product compliance challenges. At the same time, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, he plays an important role in shaping the strategic direction of our company.
