For many students, a significant decision awaits after graduation: which path leads to their professional future? The Dual University of Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) offers an opportunity on November 22, 2023, to explore various study options. Among the participating companies is opesus. As dual partner, opesus aims to mentor students during their practical training phase at our office in Ravensburg
At opesus, we believe in the power of diversity to drive innovation and create a vibrant workplace culture. As a software company offering solutions for sustainability, we have embraced diversity as a key aspect of our success.
At opesus, we value an active and inspirational working environment. For this reason, we come together in person twice a year in what we call (Sunny) Office Week. These weeks are always important to us. Besides discussions around business and product developments, we also place emphasis on team spirit and personal development.
During our Office Weeks at opesus, the focus is not only on work but also on coming together as a team and sharing special experiences. In this blog post, we would like to share with you about two special team events during our last Office Week - a cozy evening around the campfire and our communal cooking session.
As is tradition at opesus, our new colleagues have chosen an organization for this year's Christmas Charity on behalf of our customers. In 2022, we were able to expand our team in Germany, the USA, and for the very first time in Spain. Therefore, our new colleagues (Alice, Anaid, Ella, James, Javier, Julia, Mikail, and Natalie) have chosen a Spanish foundation called Oncolliga.
In August 2022 opesus turned 10 years! Have a look back on our journey and the many milestones we've achieved.
Not only on Girls' Day in ICT, but also in general, we think about the role of women in IT and what we like so much about our work at opesus. Here are some voices on working in IT as a woman, and, at opesus.
By moving in a larger office in the city of Augsburg, we not only gained more space, but also an outdoor area with a beautiful view of city gardens and huge trees. We plan to use the space for our breaks, but also for meeting or working outdoors. And, for the time after Corona, we hope to come together with our colleagues from all other offices as well as to welcome friends and visitors from elswhere. In keeping with our corporate culture, we want to have very good conditions for productive work in all of our offices, and create places where we enjoy spending time and meeting others. Many good reasons to set about making this outdoor area as beautiful and cozy as possible.
We are so excited to share with you that we have now 100 customers using our solution opesus EHS Product Notification! We are happy to be able to support organizations that do good and valuable work in aid projects with our Christmas Charity and in the name of our customers. We are also thankful for the positive feedback we receive from you on this project. This year we are happy to have made a donation to The Global Foundation For Children With Hearing Loss, an organization that aims to make a direct and lasting impact on young children living in developing countries who are deaf or hard of hearing by establishing the early identification, hearing technology, local professional expertise, and resources these children need to learn to listen and speak and achieve their full potential.
Say what you want about 2020, but this year was special. It demanded strong nerves, flexibility, and creative thinking from everyone at opesus. Qualities that we cultivated before and always like to use. Nevertheless, we were forced to approach the year in a different way than we were used to. We look back at 2020 with some wistfulness about missed personal encounters and the limitations that we had overcome. On the other hand, we are happy about the things that we managed and implemented together despite the challenges – with success, fun, and our personal touch.
In our virtual Winter Office Week, we once again dealt with many exciting topics. One session was dedicated to sustainability – a topic that is important to us. We also want to live up to our company name: opesus is made up of the words operative and sustainability. Good reasons to take a fresh look at old patterns of behavior and decide on some innovations to improve on our sustainability.
opesus has been successfully developing sustainability solutions for SAP since it has started in 2012. We had two customers at the time, and we are happy to say that both rely on us and our software until this very day. Many more customers in the form of well-known companies have joined us since then, so that we were able to reach the amazing milestone of “100 customers”.
Twice a year the entire opesus team comes together for a full week of what we call “Office Weeks”- one in summer and another in winter. For us, these weeks are the most intense, productive, and popular team working weeks of the year.
When we had to decide to cancel the conference in Frankfurt in order to switch to an online event, it was not easy for us. The personal exchange between customers, interested parties and partners is very important to us. As you know, our corporate philosophy is based to a large extent on precisely this personal and direct contact.
How have you done so far in the first and hopefully only pandemic of our lives? What a surreal situation! We hope, you are well!
Like many others, the CEO and the team of opesus had to make some difficult decisions and adapt their behavior to the new situation. How do we handle customer appointments? How will we continue to work in the coming weeks? What will happen to the major events we had planned for 2020? We are following the developments around the virus closely and would like to inform you about the measures we have taken to protect everybody’s health as well as keeping up our work.
On 28 June 2019, the TOP 100 most innovative companies in Germany were honored at the Deutscher Mittelstands Summit (German SME Summit) in the Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt – and we were there! German TV-Moderator Linda Zervakis led through the entertaining evening. Alongside her, German science journalist and author Ranga Yogeshwar, Hesse’s Minister of Economic Affairs Tarek Al-Wazir, and former Federal President Christian Wulff, the scientific director of the award, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, spoke at the event.
Every year at opesus, we pass on the Christmas cheer to those in need. Instead of gifting our customers opesus-branded goodies, we donate to a charity organization in their name. For 2018, opesus donated to the Himalayan Stove Project – an organization that is transforming the lives of residents in mountainous Nepal, one clean cooking stove at a time.
opesus received the Technology Fast 50 Award – for the 3rd time in 3 years
