opesus EHS Product Notification - Version 5.1 and 5.2

We are proud to announce that the latest version of opesus EHS Product Notification, version 5.2, is now available! With this release the support for the new CLP hazard classes introduced in 2023 is now extended to customers using sphera content for PCN notifications. Further the release 5.2 includes a new process automation trigger to reprocess notifications in error. Already with EPN version 5.1 we updated to the latest IUCLID 6.8 to support the new hazard classes for C&L and PCN notifications.

General Features of opesus EPN

New Report to View and Export Internal/External Mapping

With version 5.2, administrators can now view and export internal and external value mappings, including related value and phrase texts.

EPN for Swiss BAG Notifications

Version 5.2 contains an update of the classification mapping. Not required entries for specific target organ toxicity, repeated exposure  have been removed, and missing entries have been added.

EPN for EU C&L Inventory Notifications

New Hazard Classes Introduced in 2023

With version 5.1, the C&L format was updated to version 3.0 to include new hazard classes:

• endocrine disruption for human health (ED HH),
• endocrine disruption for the environment (ED ENV),
• persistent, bioaccumulative (PBT),
• toxic, very persistent, very bioaccumulative (vPvB),
• persistent, mobile  (PMT),
• toxic or very persistent, very mobile properties (vPvM).

Version 5.1 also supports new information requirements for acute toxicity estimates for C&L notifications introduced by Regulation (EU) 2024/2865 in October 2024.

Transition Period for New Hazard Classes

• Starting 1st May 2025: New hazard classes are mandatory for substances newly placed on the EU market.
• By 31st October 2026: Substances already on the market must comply.

C&L notifications must be updated to reflect the new hazard classes, even for substances without classification. For such cases, reasons for non-classification must be provided.

EPN for EU PCN Notifications

With version 5.1, the PCN format was updated to version 6.0 to support the new hazard classes:

• endocrine disruption for human health (ED HH),
• endocrine disruption for the environment (ED ENV),
• persistent, bioaccumulative (PBT),
• toxic or very persistent, very bioaccumulative properties (vPvB)
• persistent, mobile (PMT)
• toxic or very persistent, very mobile properties (vPvM).

With version 5.2 we extended the configuration of the new hazard classes to support customers that use sphera CE content.

Further with version 5.2 a new process automation trigger was introduced that allows reprocessing notifications in errors. Use cases are to reprocess notifications after missing data has been maintained. Or if due to a malfunction in the ECHA Submission Portal a mass cancellation of pending notification took place, and notifications need to be submitted again.

EPN for EU SCIP Database

With version 5.1, the SCIP format was updated to version 5.0. Further the performance of the notification monitor search was improved.
