Starting 1st January 2026, preparations, biocides, fertilizers, and e-liquids that are classified as hazardous on the basis of their health and physical effects, placed on the Swiss market must be labelled with a unique formula identifier (UFI) and notified in the Swiss Chemicals Product Register (RPC).

In Switzerland, the ordinance on protection against dangerous substances and preparations (ChemO) regulates the placing of substances and preparations on the market. The ChemO is largely similar to the European REACH and CLP regulations except when it comes to the part of registering substances.
